Barcelona have surpassed AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United in the report to sign Dinamo Zagreb forward Dani Olmo, a report claims.

The Spain international helped his country’s U21 side win the European Championships over the summer, causing a lot of Europe’s top clubs to take note.

The Manchester Evening News recently reported that both Manchester City and Manchester United are ready to go head to head in January to try and sign the winger.

Olmo has admirers in Italy too, and Dinamo sporting director Marko Vukelic confirmed that their prized asset Olmo is ‘on the list’ of Milan as a potential transfer target.

According to Goal.com though it is Barcelona who are frontrunners to re-sign their academy product, despite Chelsea and Manchester United having had talks.

The Catalan giants apparently feel confident in getting the deal over the line for around €30million, despite the Croatian side holding firm and asking for €40m.

Barcelona believe that Olmo can ‘come in and make an impact immediately in their first team’ – but Dinamo are aware they could conduct a bidding war if other interest is concrete.

The player recently revealed that he feels his time in Croatia has come to an end, seemingly an indication that he is ready to take the next step in his career.
