According to the Daily Mail, Lampard completed his assessment of every player during the warm-up tour in Japan and decided that Bakayoko and Drinkwater are surplus to requirements despite the Blues’ two-window transfer ban. Drinkwater joined the London club from Leicester for £35m in 2017, a year after winning the Premier League but struggled to stand out as he only amassed a total of 23 appearances at Stamford Bridge. Bakayoko signed on the same year for £40m following a stunning stint at Monaco but also failed to convince so he was shipped out on loan to AC Milan last season. Lampard can’t sign any players until next summer but still needs to trim his squad ahead of the new campaign. The club legend is restricted to 17 overseas players, which means that Bakayoko is expendable. The Stamford Bridge boss has also decided that Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are better options in midfield. Everton are reportedly keeping tabs on Bakayoko and could pay up to £40million to bring him to Goodison Park. The Toffees see him as potential replacement for Idrissa Gueye, who is close to joining Paris Saint-Germain.   Bakayoko shone bright in 2017 as he played a big part in Monaco’s Ligue 1 triumph and stunning Champions League campaign which saw them reach the semi-finals. Drinkwater may have to take a pay cut if he moves to another club. However the England international could get more first-team football if he agrees to a transfer.  Chelsea’s Premier League campaign kicks off with a difficult challenge on August 11. The Blues will take on Manchester United at Old Trafford. The London club finished third in the Premier League last season under Maurizio Sarri and also won the Europa League.

I think Frank knows what he is doing…so far they are both out weakest links…too bad, drinkwater isn't lucky enough, but i think he failed in stepping up his game…first Sarri, now lampard doesn't want him ha ba!

That's a shame. I like drinkwater and bakayoko. Drinkwater didn't get a chance at Stamford Bridge . He was to support kante in middfeld. But he did played in the 4-3win at Reading today and for bakayoko who played well at ac Milan. But their some law that you can only have centain number of Foreigners at a club. (I think that's it). Who ever buys them. They get good players. Very good luck to them.?
